Find your bean

Three questions, and we'll tell you which bag to walk out with. It's the same three the person behind the counter would ask you anyway.

Twenty pounds
at a time

The drum out back holds twenty pounds, which is small enough that we taste every batch before it goes on the shelf and small enough that we have to do it again on Friday.

We buy from four farms and we've been buying from three of them since 2014. The prices go up when their costs go up, which is the arrangement, and the harvest year is printed on the bag so you know how fresh what you're drinking really is.

Nothing sits longer than two weeks. If a bag is close, it goes on the counter at half price rather than to you at full.

This month's roasts

Dark Roast

Old Mill

Brazil & Guatemala

The house blend and the one in every espresso we pull. Dark chocolate, toasted walnut and brown sugar, and it holds its own through milk.

$19 / 12 oz
Light Roast

Daybreak

Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia

Bright and floral, with apricot and black tea. Best as a pour over, drunk black, on a morning you have twenty minutes to spare.

$23 / 12 oz
Medium Roast

Foothill

Huila, Colombia

The easy one. Caramel, red apple and a little cinnamon, forgiving in any brewer, and the bag most people come back for.

$21 / 12 oz

What people say

They remember that I take a cortado and they remember my dog's name, which is more than my bank manages.

Elena V.Every weekday since 2019

I asked which bag to buy and got a five minute answer about a farm in Huila. Bought two. Been buying them since.

The wifi is fine, the chairs are good and nobody glares at you at hour two. That's the whole review.
