Sanctuary

A warm, welcoming design for churches and non-profits — built for organisations whose front door matters more than their branding.

View Live Demo Start With This Design

You're choosing a design. I build the site.

This isn't a file you download or a theme you install. There's no page builder to learn and nothing to configure yourself.

You pick this design, send me your service times, events and photos, and I build your site around it by hand — colours, type and wording adjusted to your congregation or cause.

Two costs, quoted separately

The build — a one-time fee covering design adaptation, building every page with your content, and launch. Quoted once I know your page count.

Hosting & care — a separate monthly cost that keeps the site online, secure and backed up. Quoted alongside the build so you see both numbers before committing.

The demo uses placeholder content. Yours would carry your service times, your events, your people.

The Process

From here to live

Two to Four Weeks

01

You pick Sanctuary

Get in touch and tell me this is the direction. We talk through who you serve and what a newcomer needs to find first.

02

You send content

Service times, address, upcoming events, ways to serve, and photos of actual people. I send a checklist.

03

I build it

I adapt the design to your organisation and build every page by hand, showing you progress as I go.

04

We go live

Domain connected, giving link wired up, and a walkthrough so a volunteer can update events each week.

The Feel

Warm, not corporate

Most church websites look either like a wedding invitation or a bank. This is neither — it's soft, rounded and human, and it reads as though a person wrote it.

  • Warm clay and oat palette, nothing cold
  • Fraunces — a soft serif with real personality
  • Rounded corners and pill buttons throughout
  • Arched imagery echoing a chapel window
  • Cards that tilt playfully on hover
  • Gentle spring animation, never flashy
  • Honours reduced-motion accessibility settings

What It Costs

Build, then hosting

Quoted Separately

One-Time

The Build

Design adapted to your organisation, every page built with your content, giving and forms connected, and launch handled.

Quoted per project — it depends on how many pages you need and whether you want sermon archives or online giving. Non-profits, ask me about a reduced rate.

Monthly

Hosting & Care

Keeps the site online, fast, secure and backed up, with software kept current.

Separate from the build — quoted at the same time so you see both numbers together. Weekly event updates can be included if no one on your team wants to own it.

Good to Know

Common Questions

Before We Start

Am I buying a template to install myself?

No. You're choosing a design direction. There's nothing to download or configure — I build the site for you using your content. Nobody on your team needs to learn a page builder.

Can we take donations through the site?

Yes. I'll connect whatever you already use — Tithe.ly, Givelify, Stripe, PayPal or a donor platform. Those providers charge their own processing fees, which are separate from anything I quote.

Can a volunteer update events each week?

Yes, and I'd assume they will. Before launch I'll walk whoever looks after it through adding an event, changing service times and swapping photos. If nobody wants that job, I can do it as part of your monthly plan.

Can we host sermon audio or video?

The design includes a latest-message section. For a full archive, the practical route is hosting on YouTube, Vimeo or a podcast host and embedding it — that keeps your hosting costs down and works better on phones.

Do you offer a non-profit rate?

Ask me. If you're a registered non-profit or a small congregation, tell me your situation when you get in touch and I'll be straight with you about what I can do.

We're not a church — does this still work?

Yes. It suits any organisation built around gatherings, volunteers and giving — community centres, food banks, shelters, youth programmes. The wording changes, the structure holds.

Do we own the website?

Yes. The files, domain and content are yours. If you ever move to another host or designer, everything transfers.

Do you only work with organisations in Los Angeles?

No — I work anywhere in the US. If you're local we can meet in person; everywhere else we do it over Zoom.

Want something
entirely your own?

If none of the designs fit, I build from a blank page too. Same process, more discovery.
